The 25.5’’ scale length adds a little more tension to the strings which means more sustain, note separation, and less string noise when strumming away! This extra tension is great with a Canadian maple neck. Being a bright and dense wood, you can really feel each note underneath your fingers, and this is only exaggerated further with a maple fretboard. The G280DX is a highly resonant guitar with an incredible and natural acoustic-like projection.
Beautifully complementing the natural acoustic properties of this guitar are the Voiced Tone VTH-59 bridge humbucker and VTS-63 single-coil. These have been developed by Cort with a careful ear and decades of experience to feed your amp the best possible tones available. They are incredibly clear and balanced with a lush vintage warmth, giving an addictive quality that makes this guitar almost impossible to put down.
Staggered locking tuners are a great addition to an already feature-filled instrument. This keeps your tuning stable and adjusts the break angle of each string, ensuring the best tone possible. Continuing the quality is the spoke nut truss rod, allowing for incredibly precise ‘relief’ (or bow) adjustments in the neck. The relief can really change the feel of a guitar and being able to tailor that to precisely what you want is brilliant.
The G280 is made with a classic tonewood that has been used for years: alder. Alder is known for its tonal balance with a slight raunchiness to the upper midrange which helps chords sing from your amplifier. The G280’s body shape allows for brilliant access to the upper frets, making soloing much easier for those of us that love to shred.
