The Ibanez AW54JR Artwood features a body crafted entirely from mahogany, which offers players a full-bodied, richly resonant sound with a sonically pleasing mellow warmth. As a top wood, the mahogany offers a natural compression, creating strong fundamentals with a clear and direct focus. Used as back and sides panels, the tonewood provides a meaty mid-range, producing punchy, woody tones with plenty of depth and complexity that will please most playing styles. Additionally, mahogany excels within blues-inspired genres, although it is able to handle many different genres and techniques with ease.
Constructed from mahogany, the neck offers warmth and added resonance, and also provides a quick response. Mahogany is commonly used to craft guitar necks, as the wood's natural character enables it to respond greatly well to numerous genres and techniques. The neck is topped with an ovangkol fingerboard that adds warmth with a little hint of bright-sparkle to the overall sound. Its fingerboard also features large frets, which is ideal for single-note picking players.
The Ibanez AW54JR Artwood features a dreadnought junior body with a comfort forearm spruce contour, offering players of all sizes and abilities a comfortable playing experience. Being slightly smaller in size than the original dreadnought, players can appreciate its comfort as well as it still being able to maintain a mighty acoustic voice with great volume and projection. To provide further comfort, the Ibanez AW54JR features forearm spruce contour, which enables players to rest their forearm comfortably for easier playability.
Unlike standard bridge pins, the AW54JR Artwood 2018 Electro Acoustic features advantage bridge pins, that are easier to take out and easier to put in. Each pin features a bulb shaped end, which is not only easy to grip, but also prevents the pin from being pushed in too far, for a reliable performance.
