The 170 is a cutting edge analog synthesizer. It features nine modules to whet your appetite for modular exploration. It includes an LFO, Square wave generator, filter, an envelope, and a VCA. As well as all this, it also features 16 step sequencer and keyboard – giving you an immediate performative edge.
The high-quality components mean you’re getting the best sound you can achieve. The circuit design cleverly keeps the modules compact and their intelligent design means that despite their size they can work with regular Eurorack gear. It is pure versatility combined with Teenage Engineering’s excellent sound quality – resulting in an excellent patching experience.
The Modular 400 features everything you need to get patching and making amazing and unique sounds. There is a speaker for portable patching on the go and It’s all battery powered so you can take it anywhere you want.
With eight patch cables, once built, you can get patching with the 170 straight away. Explore its intuitive design and unlock all the fun that modular has to offer. The 170 is a fantastic modular experience distilled into a compact and flexible format.
All kits come with the parts you need to build your own personal modular synthesizer. Start with the sheet metal chassis. The sheet metal parts (A, B) come flat so you need to bend them accordingly (don't worry, the kit includes a 70 page illustrated colour manual with clear instructions and bend angles).
Most people manage to build one in under 15 minutes. When the chassis is done, you move on to mount the modules (M), snap in the wire connectors and finalize your build with knobs and rubber feet. Just follow the steps and you'll be fine.
Take control of your Teenage Engineering or Eurorack based modules with this excellent little keyboard. The build it yourself keyboard features 16 keys - each with individual tuning options. It also features a built-in programmable sequencer allowing you to adjust settings mid-performance. The 16 is battery powered too so is ready to go as soon as you get it built.
