The Vintage 1 flugel horn has plenty of premium features that you would expect from Conn. On the 3rd valve slide there is a trigger for the 3rd valve slide that features a wooden lever. The trigger is useful for quick intonation adjustments and is also comfier to use than standard triggers for players with smaller hands. The bell of the flugel horn is made from a hand-hammered one-piece of rose brass which produces a beautiful warm sound while also holding true intonation when played above the staff. Once the flugel has been constructed, it has a layer of satin lacquer applied with polished accents around the valve caps and inner bell for a truly distinctive look. The valves in the Vintage 1 flugel are crafted from monel which is a nickel and copper alloy. The majority of premium flugels have monel valves because it is very dense and is more resistant to corrosion, meaning they won't flake and are less likely to seize up.
