More than a reverb
Whilst offering flexible reverbs, Convolver delivers a unique sound design tool for composers and producers. The convolution-style impulse loader lets you load any impulse response (IR) file. This could be anything from an impulse of an electric guitar speaker cabinet to an analog filter response and much more. For a better understanding of what Convolver is capable of, a wide range of factory presets have been included to highlight the unique effects you can achieve with this compact plugin.
Add space to your mix
For any music producer, you will understand the importance of reverb within a mix. It helps to give dimension, space, width and realism to sound sources that could otherwise sound too dry, monotonous and lifeless. Reverb is a unique effect, in that its sole purpose is not to be used to transform a sound from one thing to another as is the case with phasers or flangers, but instead, it needs to serve the performance and enhance what is already there. Because of this, reverb needs to highlight the musicality and melody in what you are performing and this is exactly where Convolver shines.
Instruments recorded in dry rooms with little to no room microphone influence can benefit from the natural ambience that Convolver can bring to your tracks. Whether you're looking to add extra decay to a drum kit or add a natural ambience to a vocal track recorded in a dead room, Convolver can do it all.
Seamless tweakability
Every mix is different, and one sound and style of reverb will not cover every base. For this, reason, Convolver offers a huge range of built-in sound-shaping tools as well as a large library of impulses that simulate different spaces. Although the library is large, it's simple and easy to find a reverb that you like, avoiding the typical pitfalls of scrolling through endless lists without ever making any decision. Each impulse can be manipulated to your exact needs to find something that works with the context of your mix.
The compact interface packs a lot of value with Convolver. A waveform window offers the ability to adjust the start and endpoint of the impulse with Fade In and Fade Out controls offering even more dynamic control of the impulse waveform. More creative effects such as Stretch and Reverse allow you to stretch the length and pitch of the audio and reverse the impulse before processing respectively. Additionally, tonal shaping options such as Tone give you the ability to adjust the brightness of your reverb to better fit your mix and a seamless Mix control lets you blend between your dry and wet signal, ideal for setting up direct plugin inserts or Bus effects.
Snapin plugin – isolated audio effect modules
This plugin is a ‘Snapin’ which are digital isolated audio effect modules, each designed for a specific task. You can use the various Snapin plugins in conjunction with each other, allowing you to create unique combinations. You can even load Kiloheart plugins to act as a Snapin host for in-depth control.
