The PlayAUDIO2D 8x32 MIDI/Audio Interface is designed for demanding live productions using computers, audio networks, and MIDI equipment. Combining 32 Dante outputs with 24 balanced XLR analogue outputs, it gives you plenty of scope for routing playback tracks, instruments, and processed audio around your setup.


Eight Dante input channels can also feed audio directly to connected computers over USB-C for processing. For computer-based shows, automatic and manual switching between two connected computers helps keep performances running if your primary system encounters a problem. Audio Protection can mute outputs when corrupt audio is detected, helping prevent unwanted noise reaching your PA or monitors.

Connect your show through Dante

Dante integration makes the PlayAUDIO2D a practical link between your performance computers and networked audio equipment. You can send up to 32 digital audio channels onto a Dante network, giving you a direct route into compatible mixing consoles and other Dante-equipped devices.

In the other direction, up to eight Dante channels can be routed into your connected computers through USB for processing. The first 24 Dante outputs mirror the interface's 24 balanced analogue XLR outputs, while eight additional Dante channels expand your routing options. Supported sample rates include 44.1, 48, 88.2, and 96kHz, with conversion available at up to 24-bit/96kHz.

Keep computer-based performances running

Live computer rigs need safeguards when something goes wrong. The PlayAUDIO2D connects two computers through USB-C and can monitor audio or MIDI activity, automatically switching systems if it detects a failure. You can also switch manually when your setup calls for direct control.

Audio Protection adds another layer of support by monitoring audio streams and muting outputs through Safe Mode when potential problems are detected. This helps stop unwanted noise caused by corrupt audio sources or files reaching the audience or your monitors. The OLED screen provides immediate system information and warnings, making problems easier to identify during a performance.

Build a flexible MIDI control hub

For MIDI-heavy shows, the PlayAUDIO2D brings your controllers, computers, modules, and network connections into one central interface. Four USB MIDI host ports accommodate class-compliant controllers and modules, alongside two MIDI DIN inputs and two outputs. Dual Ethernet connections provide RTP-MIDI networking, with 22 RTP-MIDI ports available for long-distance connections around a venue.

Four assignable front-panel buttons and two Control footswitch connections can handle MIDI functions, interface controls, and compatible external equipment. MIDI processing also lets you manage where messages are sent, filter unwanted control data, and trigger all-notes-off commands following a computer failure.

Handle stage audio from one rack

Alongside its digital connections, the PlayAUDIO2D gives you 24 balanced, panel-reinforced XLR outputs for connecting directly into stage and mixing equipment. Four XLR and quarter-inch TRS combo inputs feature low-noise microphone preamps and 48V phantom power, letting you capture microphones and instruments for processing through connected computers.

Output protection provides resistance against accidental phantom power when connecting to consoles or stage boxes, although avoiding phantom power on interface outputs remains recommended. A dedicated stereo headphone output provides convenient monitoring, while front-panel buttons and rotary encoders give you access to key functions without software. Auracle software provides deeper configuration when you need to tailor routing and settings.
