Maintaining a core tone of punchy, clear and crisp, UJAM Virtual Bassist Slap offers a flexible range of tonal shaping to customise your sound to any mix or project you're working with. A combination of modelled amplifier and cabinets, character controls and effects enables you to find a tone unique to your productions that stands out from anything else.

Subtle changes in the response and tone of the Virtual Slap Bassist are enabled through the four-way rotary Character switch. From Strong, Sharp, Full and Tame, you can customise the frequency range and aggression of your performance, taking it from bright and punchy to more rounded and soft in just one click. The Character control works in tandem with the three inbuilt amplifier types, Reckless, Rough and Subtle. A fourth amplifier option is included with Direct which bypasses all amplifier modelling, ideal for experienced producers to use third-party plug-ins. Each amplifier mode has been modelled using selective equipment to create a distinctive sound, all while staying true to the core punch and clarity that Slap provides. For more aggressive genres, Rough adds subtle harmonics with a mid-range scoop to eliminate any unwanted 'boxiness' making it ideal for metal or punk. Reckless creates a gentle mid-range boost and more rounded treble with less grit, making it perfect for pop or funk genres to cut above layers of synthesizers or vocals. Subtle is where the low-end lies, boosting tremendous body and weight for added punch and energy, making it ideal for electronic genres that sit alongside synth bass seamlessly.

A host of effects are provided with Slap Bassist, including two types of onboard modelled distortion types. The fuzz and drive are situated before the amplifier in the signal chain to give you more flexibility over your tonal shaping. Ideal for Dub or Funk genres, Fuzz adds saturation and rounds out the low-end whilst adding crunching upper midrange.

Alongside these effects are a range of creative effects and studio processors. A single dial compressor is paramount for slap bass guitar, evening out any dynamics to create a consistent sound throughout no matter how you play your Slap bassist. Additionally, a single EQ dial moves between Deep, Neutral and Present to help sculpt the overall tone of your Slap Bassist to sit within any mix. Offering Drop-D, Octaver and 30 Finisher FX, you can reshape your sound in an almost limitless number of ways. From extra distortion types, wah-wahs, filters and modulation, the Finisher effects can be used for a subtle enhancement or to remix the instrument to a new sound seamlessly.

For experienced performers, Instrument mode lets you experiment with the full offering inside of Slap. Unlock every note and technique included with the meticulously sampled instrument via your MIDI controller or keyboard.
